Two Men Face Charges In Connection With Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Incident
Two individuals are now facing charges following a suitcase robbery where a suspected irritant spray resulted in harm at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two women were robbed of their luggage taken after getting out of a parking garage elevator, according to law enforcement.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were subsequently released.
The incident – described by police as was a standalone event and not considered a terror-related act – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a short time.
