Trump's Family Member Receives Expert Advice from Tiger Woods Before LPGA First Appearance
This young athlete boasts considerable social media presence
Kai Trump can count on plenty of prominent backers as she starts her LPGA debut this Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to Donald Trump, obtained a tournament invitation to participate at the Annika tournament in Florida.
The former president, a passionate golfer, possesses several courses worldwide and regularly matches against his granddaughter.
"He's fairly competent. I shouldn't elaborate but we have competitive games," she stated.
She mentioned that Trump, unable to come, told her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"My grandpa essentially told me to compete and relax," she continued.
"From my perspective, he's just a regular grandfather. He can't make it for the tournament. He's focused on world affairs, so he's rather occupied."
While still amateur, Kai has participated in a mere three competitions recently and has position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
Yet she's able to seek guidance from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He represents the greatest golfer globally," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's an even better individual. He told me to play, enjoy myself, adapting to the flow."
She'll challenge some of the biggest names in professional golf at this tournament, such as world number two the champion, England's Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
Tournament organizers stated that Kai's presence helps introduce the sport to different demographics, specifically reaching youth audiences.
Kai maintains a massive following and has started an exclusive apparel and wellness company.
She begins at 5:30 PM GMT.
