The Opening Xbox Game Pass Games of 2026 Show Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
In numerous discussions, enthusiasts continue to ring the knell for the green team. Xbox was recently outsold by a platform few have heard of. Dedicated Xbox communities are now publishing content on PS5 topics as a new development. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for the Xbox ecosystem. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it's evident that Xbox continues to plan to attract subscribers with strong games on its premier subscription.
The Available Now Titles
The duo of games you can play right now at this moment, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's truly noteworthy.
Major Titles on the Horizon
On Jan. 13, the platform will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that refreshes the standard Ubisoft formula with an intergalactic heist adventure. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, hailed in past assessments as "an ideal blend of frights and fights."
Noteworthy Smaller Games
But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that is incredibly fun, becomes available next week — and it merits a playthrough whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
This UK-developed survival title from last year could captivate you within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by Rebellion Developments, also warrants your attention. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
A Well-Rounded Collection
Ultimately, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, nor are they first-party juggernauts that validate the subscription alone. But Microsoft's additions here are very dependable. It offers a healthy blend of old games you might have missed and fairly new titles that didn't get the attention they were due initially — transforming them into ideal prospects to experience a revival on Game Pass.
Be prepared to bid farewell to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, though.
