Bouldering in the National Park
Including total newcomers will soon be climbing sheltered Peak District rock faces on this two-day program. This historic hillside village, a ancient town in southern Spain, about a short drive from Granada, is the inspiring setting for this painting holiday. Participants of all abilities – even beginners – will learn how to design and produce non-representational pieces. Some time will be spent in the open air, working on tutorials en plein air. These sketches and watercolour studies will then be expanded upon in the studio, with guests producing a number of abstract landscapes in acrylic paint to be displayed in the village. Participants has exclusive access of the venue, which is built around an open courtyard and has a roof terrace with panoramic vistas over the hills. The cost encompasses five days’ painting tuition; full board; and an outing to the local castle and other points of interest.

Vegetarian Culinary in Portugal
This sun-drenched culinary holiday, located at a villa by the river in the inland Portuguese region, is inspired by the vegetarian dishes of celebrated cooks. Guests will master the art of meze spreads, attend a falafel-making workshop, refine brunch dishes such as shakshuka, and make substantial main courses such as spicy mushroom ragu and moussaka. There are visits to the village market and a local vineyard to taste local vintages, combined with free time for strolls by the Funcho River, to unwind on the terrace or swim in the pool. The farmhouse, a renovated rural property, has multiple rooms, plus glamping tents in the grounds.

Street Dance in High Wycombe
Hip Hop Don’t Stop is an energizing, inclusive three-day adults’ street dance camp in High Wycombe. The format each day is a party-style group warmup, followed by several 90-minute classes covering various street dance styles, then an hour-long freestyle session to demonstrate new moves. Participants are divided into levels based on skill level, so it is suitable for those who are completely new to street dance, all the way to experienced performers or teachers. The camp doesn’t include accommodation but there are several places to stay nearby, and it is 23-35 minutes by train into London.

Sea Shanty Break in St Ives
This coastal town is the perfect location for a sea shanty weekend. Participants will be taught historic sailing songs from a folk singer and vocal coach, and have a go at writing their own. There will be vocal warmups, breathing exercises, performance tips and a final evening concert. The retreat is held in a country house with views of St Ives Bay. All meals are included, including a Cornish cream tea on arrival, breakfast options, lunches to go and three-course dinners. Traditional rum, unfortunately, is not provided. Creative Writing in Crete
Author and lecturer an experienced instructor runs the regular sessions on this authors' getaway. He covers topics including story structure, character development, setting and suspense, to sending manuscripts to publishers. Greg’s wife, the bestselling author Kate Mosse, will co-host events at the start and finish of the retreat. The retreat is based at a village-style hotel in Vamos at the base of the White mountains – ten private accommodations are set around a garden and pool (companions are encouraged to share). Beginners' Beekeeping in Wales
The Centre for Alternative Technology near Machynlleth runs a wide range of courses covering sustainability: from wildlife gardening to making pallet furniture. This two-day course will help participants learn the fundamentals of apiary management, study the biology of bees and discover their ecological importance. It is designed to produce “ecologically mindful beekeepers”. This course is also a chance to relax in the centre's sustainably managed woodlands, which are home to polecats, otters, dormice, lesser horseshoe bats and rare birds. Bed and breakfast the evening prior is £80, and all meals and lodging during the course is 97 pounds.

Yachting for Beginners in the Blackwater Estuary
These recently launched weekend sailing courses are spent on Wayfarers and keelboats on the Blackwater estuary. Sailors can improve their helming, build their nautical skills and work towards the Royal Yachting Association’s certification levels in a supportive atmosphere.
